Private lessons are also available outside of these times. Concession cards are available for all adult groups and private lessons. There will be another FAST FOUR tournament starting in term 3.

Tahunanui 'FAST FOUR' Tennis Competition
Over the last 3 months or so I have been running a new singles competition with 10 ladies from the club. It has proven very popular. The format of each match is based on the new 'Fast Four' competition. This is a shortened form of the game which generally takes no more than an hour. Great for those that are short of time.
The format is a round robin singles tournament that involves playing 1 person every fortnight until all are played. You play whenever you and your opposition can agree a time within that fortnight.
I will send out a draw, updated results, and provide a pack with balls and score card each fortnight.
Details of how it works:
- First to 4 games in each set (rather than 6)
- sudden death at first deuce. Get to deuce and next point wins. Receiver gets to choose which side they receive on.
- 5 point Tiebreak at 3 games all. No 2 point advantage, just first one to 5. Still same serving structure. 1 serve to start, then balls handed over for 2 points and so on.
- still 3 sets but if someone is 2 sets up then don't need to play a third
- you play out the service lets. So if the ball hits the net on the serve and goes in then point carries on. No replay. You can discuss this rule with your opponent as I see this as optional.
I will plan to start the first round on the 11th May provided I have enough people registered.
Cost is $4 cash per person per match which can be left in with the pack at the time the score card and balls come in.
Please let me know if you would like to register for this or have any questions. Also if any other ladies are interested then get in touch and I can include you in the next ladies competition.
There will be a prize for the winner and runner up at the end of the season.
